Characterizing Neuromodulator GPCRs

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that mediate neuromodulators in the brain have been extensively targeted for drug development of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Although successful in many regards, it has not met a full potential as elucidation of key pharmacological mechanisms awaits. Our lab investigates mechanisms for functional selectivity, allosterism, superagonism. We are currently studying these themes in the context of dopamine receptor and cannabinoid receptor pharmacology.
